movies on tv
last night i saw on nederland 2 (vpro) a film by guido van driel, about bicycle parking enforcers. "groen is toch de mooiste kleur voor gras". i liked that movie a lot. it struck me as being mature and true, and also lovely.
later the same night i saw parts of visconti's film of "death in venice", till i couldn't stand it any more and switched the channel. man that thing was crap. mostly a bunch of slow panning around details of costume drama, zooming in and out and occasionally people shouting at each other. why was luchino visconti famous?
both movies were fairly slow paced, and one was great and the other sucked.
