notions to be amplified in "n fool"
thinking of revising "notes of a fool" ... some ideas need to be expanded upon.
to live freely we need to make government obsolete. this means we need to do the right thing. i may complain about how we behave, but that doesn't suggest that some authority should control us more. "we need more self-government and less of the other kind".
need to discuss more about the many forms of slavery, not just the obvious ones.
slavery of human to the state.
slavery of the state to big business.
slavery of big business to the whims of the stock market.
slavery of humans to credit. how the baseline standard of living has been revised to oblige us to be slaves to credit. without borrowing, we cannot afford to live adequately in this age, because the prices of what we need have been set higher than we can afford.
more about the association of anarchism with violence. both goldman and malatesta were seen to extol nonviolence while excusing revolutionary violence. we've seen where that logic got us -- everybody is scared of and despises anarchy -- and hopefully learned that lesson. even in their days, violence didn't work against the powers that were *then*. nowadays the situation is much more extreme: state is armed beyond imagination, the world's worst enemy can never be defeated by violence. so it's a unique time for recognition of nonviolence.
and again, regarding violence:
the reason the ends can never justify the means is because *the means are the end*. in other words, the method of nonviolence is also the goal of nonviolence.
