at this time of year, here, it gets dark about nine in the evening. last dregs of twilight.
i was up a long time building a web thingy that will read text you enter, then reproduce it using images of letters. the tricky bit is that incoming text may not all be plain ascii range, some of it may have diacritical marks and such. so i needed a way to detect what part of the character code spectrum a letter comes from and get the code differently depending. after that it's just a matter of making sure you have a picture of the letter that's named after that code -- cuz once it knows the code for the letter form, it just puts the picture of that letter into the stream of pictures.
when i got that working, i ate a niçoise salad and went to bed for a while. then an hour ago i got up again and watched a very cool BBC show about TV presenter kate silverton becoming a daring kayaker in the scary seas around cornwall.
i'm still worried about this JVC camera that i bought, and the projects coming up, and the belastingdienst of course.
