sheesh now i'm on myspace too?
so i made a myspace account. not sure why, but some of my friends are doing it so i did it too. would i jump off a roof if my friends did it? well i guess it depends on how high the roof was.
thursday night i saw michael berk at mulligan's. he's kinda like mozart with only six strings. that guy gets busy. i bought his CD again, cuz i sent the first one to my love. but you know what, it's not the same just listening to his CD, you really have to see the guy do his thing. there are quite a few clips of him on youtube, but youtube's not fast enough to capture berk.
friday i got an sms from n & v saying their mission to berlin was a success -- v has his residence permit for australia. yay for them.
on friday night i walked to the wilhelmina pakhuis cafe to see artery play. i had some fun at the show and some of my friends were there, including m the new mom who hasn't been out dancing for a while. another friend whom i was hoping to see, cuz she's beautiful, had said she was coming but never showed up, dammit.
after the show, ianko dragged me and djox down into the kelder, apparently hoping to shoot some memorable video in the dressing room. but apart from somebody briefly whipping his ass with a belt, i don't remember anything memorable happening. and i usually do remember memorable things. which come to think of it, may be what makes them memorable. i'd forgotten about that.
ianko also said that the gigs database at the artery website is broken.
as i was walking home, along that desolate dreary way whose name i can't remember, n fly slowed down on his fiets and tentatively offered me a lift on his back wheel -- not knowing whether his tires could withstand my mass. but i needed the walk, so we said good night.
saturday night i wanted to keep myself awake long enough to watch the film "enigma" on tv again. i kept dozing off, so i made a pot of coffee just before midnight. that was a pretty good movie, and i liked some of the music (john barry) so i pulled a few tracks down from itunes. then i couldn't get to sleep.
speaking of film composers, i've discovered one that i think is really great, her name is anne nikitin. she did the orchestral score for a BBC show where kate silverton tries to conquer her fear of scary oceans. i wrote to anne to tell her how great she was, and was quite pleased when she wrote back. it would be nice if the camera shop in utrecht were as attentive to me as some brilliant composer in england whom i've never met.
oh, and that tv commercial i designed for paul the other day? he sms'd me saturday night to say he'd just seen it on the air. sheesh, now my work is on dutch tv as well? not my best work mind you. but there you have it. some kinda vooruitgang maybe.
