banning older cars
there's also some controversy in local govt where a couple of aldermen were proposing to ban all motor vehicles from before 1992 from entering the city, because they pollute worse.
people thought that was ridiculous so it's been shot down. after all, the only *cool* cars left in town are from well before 1992.
if they are serious about improving air quality in amsterdam, i would suggest the opposite: ban all vehicles manufactured *after* 1992. then there will be far fewer cars in town.
