bezet
yesterday i went to m & m's wedding at the sieraad building, postjesweg 1. it took place in the "courtyard" which is glassed over. i knew seven people there, including bride and groom that is.
this afternoon it was pani on the phone. i walked over to find her in rembrandtpark. she was near the pond to the west of "the dogs" (the two bizarre giant puppy sculptures flanking postjesweg) practicing walking on her "slack line" strung between two trees. that's a long strap with a turnbuckle allowing you to tighten it just enough to walk on it, but not too tight. it's like a packing strap for a truck. and i watched the ducks swimming around with the little tiny ducks.
when pani was done practicing, we wrapped up the strap and walked to her monastery/house. she gave me some lekker vegetable soup which she calls "moroccan soup" because of the recipe, involving a special spice mix she buys from a persian shop on kinkerstraat. then upstairs she helped me book tickets to and from krakow via internet. i saw where she has one of her papier maché faces hanging somewhere in a big empty square picture frame on the wall. also i got to see two of my former plants on the stairway.
so i'm going to krakow on 21 mei and returning 26 mei. magda's wedding is on the 22nd. by phone magda told her don't worry, *someone* will fetch me from krakow to sanok. i spose if that doesn't happen, i'll just wander the streets of krakow for a week. no prob.
also while at pani's place i made a call to eg [tmbgitw] re wardrobe sizes -- no answer -- so i left word that pani would phone her later. meanwhile i'm still hunting a space to shoot in next saturday.
walking back home i saw that the sidewalks are already all filling up with chalk outlines and the word "BEZET" (occupied) in different colors. people are staking out territory for a street market on queen's day. if i had my own chalk i would have marked out one pavingstone and called it bezet.
jt says in an email that max the dog got all excited when she told him i'd said hello -- that he then went to the window and waited for me, wagging his tail.
i wonder how kees is doing.
