permanent resident
waiting for NW0037. today i got up early, went for a walk to metrostation jan van galenstraat, and took a train to sloterdijk. at the IND kantoor next door to the station, i was brought upstairs by a security man and sent to a woman at counter 5. she gave me my verblijfsvergunning voor onbepaalde tijd. a permanent residence is thus granted to me in the netherlands. and it's a good thing too cuz i'll need to be here permanently to pay the taxes i owe. the new card looks just the same as all the others i've had, except for a couple different words. no pomp and circumstance no graduation.
15.20 just took off from schiphol. i'm in 13j, sitting just forward of the engine intakes. it's quite loud actually. a sunny clear day. just crossed over the beach and out over the water now.
13.20 (switched to boston time) passed southern tip of greenland. looks on map like we're more than half way there. captain said something about arriving early man this shit is boring. thank god it's only transatlantic and i'm not flying to japan or something.
16.00 after 2/3 of the flight i decided to watch the movie "cloverfield" on the VOD. interesting. we're approaching boston from down along the coast of maine. having weird skimming dreams. i dreamed of a possible 3-sided human with radial symmetry three arms and three legs. also dreamed of a bunch of thin reddish ribbons that needed to be moving in a certain way in the costuming. all kinds of fleeting glimpses when you can't really fall asleep but can't stay awake either. ok i'm starting to see islands and north shore scapes. somebody shut that baby up please?
