found a computer-printed receipt from an impulsive romantic visit to the bristol bar at the four seasons hotel. which is a big fancy exclusive place, where you can walk in with a bold enough girl and sit for awhile on a saturday night, feeling like at any moment someone will come and eject you for not belonging here. it's kinda cozy and dark and you can sit in relaxy easy chairs at little tables, nearer or closer to a fireplace in the winter perhaps. i always felt weird about having drinks at anyplace you can't put your elbows on. sitting back in a nice cozy chair makes it hard to talk to the person you're with because they're sitting back too, and it's not that quiet in here.
