my first trip to poland
on the night before she left, pani and i went to het stoplicht. worried about my first trip to poland, i asked her to give me a bunch of phone numbers for people in sanok. and i asked how to say a bunch of things in polish, which i wrote in my notebook more or less phonetically.

nie móvię po polsku. i can't speak polish. this one i tried to spell correctly in my notebook.
i decided to bring my little DV camera. also had to carry 5 kg of chocolate chips for pani, and my jacket and tie cuz i was going to a wedding.
wednesday morning i had to go to pani's house and find someone named minke who could let me into pani's room to grab her USB drive, so i could upload some of her photos of richard corrigan to someone at RTE cork. they needed them for press promotion of the upcoming TV show that pani worked on with bazek.
20.30 aboard central wings flight 0164 seat 07F, got my little book "survival polish" with me. this airline seems a little disorganized. there's no direction as to which line to wait in for their checkin desk. and the desk is clear at the other end of the airport from the gate you depart from. plane: a boeing 737.

21.00 sunset, we're finally taxiing for takeoff. cute flight attendant doing the old fashioned hand dance to indicate emergency exits and show you what to do with oxygen mask, while a man narrates in polish. at one point she almost started to crack up, i was giggling the whole time.
