.55 the three of us pani baz and i we're sitting at a teras in the main town square (the square is called rynek), where the old city hall has recently been painted controversial candy pink. drinking lezajsk beer.
.55 outside hotel waiting. a bit tired. we walked a short distance to the "castle" / historical museum but got there just in time for it to close, so we'll have to try tomorrow. we keep running into people who recognize pani from when she used to live here growing up. a tall lady named kinga, math whiz in school, has a little girl hiding behind her legs cuz she's shy.
.10 sitting in room 202 waiting, listening to kids play in the playground in the park in front of the hotel. dinner at 5 at maison P. i bought today a map of sanok and a polish-english dictionary, and three DV tapes (cuz we'd used up the ones i'd brought with me). the tapes cost 69 złoty. per euro is about 3.5 złloty.
.10 after dinner, sitting at the table at the house on modrzewskiego. baz needs to get on the internet somehow so he can reschedule his flight (wants to stay and extra day and chill in sanok, enjoying the vibe). pauline has a cold. we have been served many dishes whose names i dunno. then sweets and more triumph vodka. radio is on playing old polish songs.
baz and i were advocating that we should at some point ask our hosts out to dinner in a nice restaurant, since they've taken such good care of us. but pani explains that her mother would be terrified by the suggestion of eating out at a restaurant, having been conditioned in her youth to believe that all restaurants were communist era cafeterias with horrible food.
