marinka's party
on wednesday the 25th, there was a party here at jk's house for marinka's 30th birthday. it was just crowded enough not to be scary, and i think we all ended up having a good time. i had had quite a frustrating afternoon creatively, but i relaxed then. ak brought some food. pani also brought some food, and gave marinka a cool portrait she'd painted of her from a photo, wearing a colorful dress with words like "love" and "sex" on it. other people brought other things. jk made something he calls "fat bastard pizza". m the saint was making mojitos, which involves rum and limes and mint from the garden. ianko showed us a re-va-ro video from youtube in which he sings, and then deva's dog starts humping him. out in the garden deva sang a few songs. i think she's a great singer. marinka sang too. ianko played his bouzouki, which i have to say was sounding pretty good considering he supposedly jumped into a canal with it a couple nights before. later on, four girls disappeared into marinka's bedroom, one with a camera, to take some sexy photos. the most exhibitionistical of them got naked. most of the people were gone by 5 in the morning, i got to sleep at about 6, while marinka and djox and ianko kept partying sometime until after jk went to work.
i got up at around 11.00 thursday and did my script revision, delivered that, then went upstairs and washed all the dishes from the party. then i felt good, as if i had accomplished something.
in the evening marinka was feeling dizzy and panicky, trying to recover from the partying, her heart was racing and she was worried about breathing. i asked if she wanted to go to the hospital (now that i know where the damn thing is), but all she wanted was somebody to hold her hand. she was afraid she was gonna die. i was reasonably convinced that she wasn't gonna die, so i coached her to just keep breathing slowly and drink water, etc. after a while she was better.
late this morning i knocked on marinka's door: "marinka!" -- "yeah?" -- "are you alive?" -- "yeah." -- "good!" [see, message exchange complete.]
we have a lot of limes left over, in a bag under the counter. i wonder what shop they came from. limes are great, i don't see enough of them in NL. i didn't want them to just rot. so yesterday i drank the juice of four limes, today i drank the juice of three limes. i'm hoping there's some vitamin C in there.
