adventures in timesinking
ok so i joined facebook. crikey this is some mad shit. hats off to them for somehow cornering the market on stealing time. there's either something about their mechanism, or something about how many of my acquaintances are already on there, that makes it the most dangerous timesink i've ever seen to date. and mind you i've already spent a lot of "morbid curiosity" hours on youtube.
i went to a chocolate shop on haarlemmerstraat on a mission from jud, to get him two boxes of chocolates with specific flavors. a woman there worked really hard to pack in the flavors he wanted, to the extent possible. when i first showed her the written opdracht she said it would take till monday, which of course doesn't work for pilots. so she made a compromise or two.
then i hurried to lisa's for what she called a "kerstborrel" and well i can tell you one thing lisa's building (right by albert cuyp) has some really steep tiny stairs. made even more challenging by the twists and turns, it's not just one geometry all the way down. i think her stairs are made for kitties rather than humans. the kitty who actually lives there is called wanda. i met some of her other friends too.
then to save money i walked home from there, which was a bit of a hike. that's why i told marina not to wait for me before serving up the braadworst, but she waited anyway, and poor jk was famished by the time i walked in.
they went to sound garden for micky's birthday but i was too tired to join them. also i have some things i need to think about.
people are saying there was a lot of snow in the boston area the last couple days.
