2009: participatory intelligence
in the year 2009 AD ...
mankind will find a way to alleviate the burden on its various national intelligence agencies around the world. instead of them having to spy on us, we will just spy on ourselves for them. marketeers will benefit too. there will be tens of thousands of "facebook applications", games and surveys and birthday alert gadgets, which people will invite each other to try. and when we do, we'll get royally data-mined. facebook promises that they will *never* give out your private information to anybody who hasn't paid them for it.
the cool thing about facebook is that you can just go there and see what's up with people you know around the world. as you know i've long been wishing for a web site where people could go and see where i was and whether i had a pulse, and i could go find out the same about them. facebook is kind of a proto-phase of that. we just need to integrate it with GPS, EKG, MP3, and Wii. all subcutaneous of course.
so there, it's freakin 2009. we had pani and bazek visiting a bit during the jaarwisseling. that was cool.
in the last few days i finished about 1.20 min of sample animations for victor's movie -- including a scratch track and some placeholder music.
