only six firework injuries in ams
parool sez that in amsterdam last night, ambulances made 55 trips. most were for people who'd been hurt getting into fights. only six of them were for people who'd been hurt by fireworks. i guess that's pretty good under the circumstances (tens of thousands of drunk people handling explosives in thick crowds).
seems like the rest of the country had a rougher time. in den haag people set 20 cars on fire -- and then threw heavy fireworks at the firemen who showed up to quench the fires. in utrecht it was 50 cars set on fire.
