tong ah is pretty damn good
i wanted to mention:
the food at chinese restaurant "tong ah" (at the corner of korte leidsedwarsstraat and leidsekruisstraat) seems to be better than before. not that it was bad -- it's just better now. so that's something not to complain about.
as we were leaving i spoke w the guy who seems to manage the place (never caught his name), and he said that yes indeed they have been actively trying to notch up the kitchen a bit.
i think fly usually gets chinese food from a place on zeedijk which is probably more authentic, but also probably more cantonese. but he said he liked what he ordered from tong ah. he had to get used to spicy food again, after a month of eating colombian food, which he said is plentiful but bland as hell.
