wilders to attempt UK invasion
i think today geert wilders is planning to get on a plane to london, even though the british government has told him he's not welcome there. fucking brilliant. jeez can we figure out a way to give this guy some more headlines? he hasn't had a high enough dose of negative attention lately. ok sure, let's make him look like a persecuted prophet, instead of just another ordinary hater.
this should be a lesson to us: that squelching anybody's freedom of speech is a just plain bad idea. on the one hand it makes prisoners out of truthtellers (vanunu), and on the other hand it makes heroes out of idiots (wilders). we need even the hatingest hater to just say what he has in mind and get it over with. then his thought-balloon can flare up, pop and blow away. instead we keep this shit smoldering.
also i forgot to mention: last week i found out that my corporate project codenamed sc09 got shitcanned at a meeting in london. that was kind of a blow, because i'd been led to believe it was really happening and had budget x, so i started to make plans (and spend money) based on that assumption. client says i should bill him for the time i spent writing the script, which they really liked. meanwhile another potential project sprang up from another old friend, so i'm not too devastated.
