post-relationship
i have to go to natbos soon for a meeting about doing a training video for the segway human transporter. which is a self-balancing motorized scooter invented by a famous guy in new hampshire. it kinda has the profile of an old-fashioned lawnmower.
i fell in love with aj one night when i was talking to her after a shoot, in the early summer of 1998. when i decided to try and shoot "rejection street" the coming autumn, i asked her to work on it with me. while we were making the movie in november, she fell in love with me too. this precipitated d and me finally breaking up, although d and i had already decided that we had to split up, sometime in september. i moved to allston on 1 february 1999, and have been living at 153 brighton av #12a, a small studio apartment upstairs in the building on the northeast corner of brighton and harvard avenues. d and i dragged our feet about getting divorced, because we didn't like the paperwork and because neither of us had plans for remarriage. but finally we got our court hearing on 23 april, and the judge approved of our separation agreement. theoretically the divorce should be enacted as of today. or yesterday. it will be "final" 90 days from now.
being in love with aj was possibly the best thing i have ever experienced. we went into it with no promises. within the last six months we began to break up, gradually, which was sad, but i knew it was coming.
just prior to the attacks on 11 september, some of my friends in the building and i decided we should start up a web magazine called "the allston chronicle." i wrote the first issue on 12 september. we are now approaching issue 10 of the monthly web mag.
