death threats for smoking bar owners
rtl news says two brothers from groningen have gotten dozens of death threats for operating a bar where smoking is allowed. anti-smokers threatened to hang them and to set their café on fire. this is the first time i've heard of the anti-smoking frenzy going that far.
yesterday an ombudsman's report severely criticized the way gemeente amsterdam handled the september sinkings in vijzelgracht connected with the noord-zuidlijn stations construction.
the same day, the whole city archive building in köln catastrophically collapsed, and some suspect that is also in connection with new metro construction. two people are still missing in that disaster, as well as lots of irreplacable documents dating back as much as 1000 years.
new automobile sales are down by around 30 percent in NL this year compared to the same month last year. people are talking like that's a bad thing, i guess because it's bad for the auto makers and their employees. why the auto makers didn't already start switching their business to something we need, i dunno.
