gisteravond feest
last night there was a "daiquiri party" at jk's house. jk's friend simon, who's visiting from london, helped massively.
george gave us a ride in his car to go fetch beer and ice. he said he was gonna stop in at the snackbar for a frikandel. "collins, do you also want a frikandel?" he asked me. -- "in my country we call it a fuckingdel!" i said, and i thought that was pretty funny so i laughed.
later on that night, huby said something so hilarious i laughed my ass off for the best part of a minute. now i can't remember what it was he said. some kind of play on words about a song title.
there was also something funny recalled from some artery show, somebody shouted to huby, "hey man, you look like bono!" and huby shouted "you too!"
remko spaaij and alain curvers were here "representing" moonaddict, and remko gave me a cd with 18 moonaddict songs to check out. i found three that like best, and hope i can make a film for at least one of them. frankly my favorite right now is a song called "zie me staan", which was not their first choice for a videoclip, but it's a mad brilliant tune and i think totally characteristic of their voice.
shortly before midnight we ran out of beer, so dvr very kindly drove me over to the dictator on jan evertsenstraat and got some more beer and cola. i like minheer de dictator, he seems like an awful nice guy. i've no idea why he calls his shop "energy dictator".
only a couple of people got really annoying at the party, and they were people we're not likely to see very often. so overall i guess it went pretty well. the last feest stragglers left around 07.00. i got to sleep by eight and woke up around noon, and with simon's diligence we've already made a serious dent in the cleanup. so i think i might rest a bit more.
