gig for hg / berlage
lgf left on tuesday. that afternoon i was composing some music when hg called and asked if i'd like to go to rotterdam with him, where he would shoot a lecture for berlage institute. so we went. and i saw mg again and had dinner at a nearby italian joint. during the lecture at berlage institute i briefly had to take over camera for hg while he went to toilet.
anyway, we find out that night that they want a movie to play at an education fair. which is happening saturday or so. i offer to help. but somehow we get the idea that it needs titles, becomes graphical, etc.
[note 2007 -- i remember from outside on the streetcorner, he and i looked up at night and saw hundreds of white plastic bags blowing in a whirlwind. "zakken" i thought, which in my accent sounded like "zaken", which put me in the frame of mind to think about business affairs. sgc]
as hg's not big on compositing, i end up designing the freakin thing using some footage and stills supplied. so i slept for about 4 hours on wednesday morning, worked thru wednesday night and delivered, on thursday morning, a two and a half minute video made in one day (including composing the soundtrack music).
i had to wait for the courier who showed up just after hg left. the dvd burn went okay and he was ready to leave at about 1 pm. then this afternoon i went to the boom bar in leidseplein and hung out talking to the staff there and had 4 beers. then i had a burger at burger king. then i came home and went for a nap. so i've had about 5 maybe 6 hours of sleep today. woke up about 1 am friday.
there's a little abbreviation i noticed on the gevel of the stadsschouwburg. [SPQA.] i wonder what that stands for.
