for the last 8 days they've been holding an inquiry into what the hell went wrong during the planning of the disastrous noord-zuid metro line in amsterdam. people who were involved are testifying under oath, but a lot of them are saying they can't remember exactly what happened. were they all drunk at the time? that would explain some of the boundless enthousiasm for a project they could neither afford nor insure nor properly build.
the other thing that happened yesterday is that in zuid-oost, amsterdam's 22nd shooting victim of this year was killed.
and there's a 17 year old riding around with a transit pass with the photo of osama bin laden.
