working on memories
i've been working again on writing down more memories of my childhood and youth.
at first this seemed like something that i should be able to do easily, because my memories were sparse and fuzzy. but the more i write down, the more i remember. it's becoming a biography -- a really boring biography.
in it, i'm looking for connections between what i observed, what happened to me, and what i have become. that's kind of interesting, though not very scientific.
the hardest part is trying to keep it chronological. if i get talking about my childhood friend donald, or my grandma eva, or my father or mother, the shops in our neighborhood, enzovoort, all those themes span ranges of time. so to try and stay reasonably chronological i kinda have to zigzag between themes. right now it's a bit of a mess, sequencing wise.
meanwhile:
this past week jk returned safely from his month-long journey in southeast asia. in the coming week, nicole and vincent return from australia. they are in the air now, i believe, en route to kuala lumpur.
and yesterday NASA crashed two space probes into the south pole of the moon, hoping to raise a plume of dust and see what's in it. the jury is still out on whether they saw anything interesting with their instruments.
