whether happiness is important
last wednesday i was at mulligan's to greet vincent and nicole on their return from australia. then i went out to nw to get some gambas pil pil with marina and garcia. then i came back to mulligan's. victor showed up and we talked a bit, and somehow we got on the subject of santa claus. his point of view was that if a fiction makes you happy, it's better than the awful truth. i disagreed, i said the truth is the most important. also about when my mom conspired with doctors to keep from my father the truth of how sick he was, victor said maybe that not knowing was what helped him live longer, so it was okay. i disagreed, i said that truth is more important than life.
