there's no berlin wall
people are taking note that 20 years ago came the breaking of the berlin wall. there's a bunch of documentaries about ex DDR things on the geschiedenis 24 channel, including one about the trabant auto. lieve trabi.
also it was about 20 years ago that i bought my first macintosh. during the early 80s i had a commodore 64, then i got an amiga 2000, both of which i had only a couple bits of software for. shortly after returning to boston i knew i needed a different computer. peter fasciano thought i should get an IBM PC, but other guys at vizwiz recommended i should get a mac instead.
