metro collision under amsterdam
parool: yesterday at wibautstraat station a metro train rear-ended another that was standing still. some 30 people were injured, not too bad cuz the offending train wasn't going too fast.
also: yesterday the pvda (labor party) resigned from the dutch cabinet. this is the end of balkenende's fourth government. the supposed immediate cause was a row over whether the govt would keep to its promise of getting dutch troops out of uruzgan by the end of july of this year.
