heatwave and wildfires in russia
wednesday night i went out, had dinner at tong ah, then went to eijlders, met with michele and dvr and henryk.
doing laundry today for the first time in a while. storyboards for imrs out for review with client overseas. waiting to proceed with job, but budget is approved.
now i'm reading a bbc news story that there have been lots of wild fires esp in peat bogs in russia, and a heat wave w temps circa 40 C. people dying of heat stroke, and having trouble breathing from smog from fires. fire in a peat bog can spread beneath the ground. kinda reminds me of the "centralia" town story, where coal fire burning under pennsylvania may last for hundreds of years, smoke rises from cracks in the highway, etc. spooky shit.
the other day there was a car bombing on the torontobrug, trying to kill 2 gangsters, but the car was armored and they were not hurt. also there was a shooting on the nieuwe spiegelstraat last friday night, two groups of young men passing, somebody said something, somebody shot two of them. weird cuz i'm used to walking up that street to get to the cave from rembrandtplein.
also there have been terrible floods in pakistan since the beginning of this month.
