saw bazek / new neighbor / news ribbon wanted
bazek is in town, till thursday. supposedly he's cooking dinner wednesday at jon's house.
also, we seem to have a new downstairs neighbor. somebody who was sposed to move out of an antikraak in the next few days and had noplace to go. i made the introduction so i feel like i helped.
you know what, i wish there was an up-to-the-minute local amsterdam news crawl that you could just put as a widget on your screen. it so often happens that we are wondering 'what are those helicopters up to now?', and don't find out what's going on till the evening -- if we're even on the ball enough to watch AT5 news or check the online newspaper -- otherwise it's days later. i found out yesterday that a couple days ago at the corner of postjesweg and hoofdweg some lady got kidnapped kicking and screaming into a car. i would have preferred to know that as soon as it was known at all. it would also be a nice feature to get a kind of city forecast/alert, for example if there's gonna be a huge demonstration, or football hooligans in town that day, etc.
it wouldn't surprise me if there already was something like this, but if there wasn't, i think there oughta be. the amsterdam news ribbon.
