rietveld students to exhibit at brakke grond
on at5 they showed some preparations for the student exhibit of rietveld academy this week at the brakke grond on nes. one of the art students seemes to have built a pyramidal structure of mayonnaise, because he likes mayonnaise. i guess that's a good reason.
also on facebook today i heard some mothers prattling with each other in lamentation about their children, and saying they had threatened their boys with cancellation of christmas by picking up the phone and pretending to call santa claus to call it off because of their misbehavior.
it reminded me that of all the people on earth who don't deserve to be lied to, little children are the most deserving. maybe because they're most easily misled by their own mothers.
but the most incredible thing was when i asked them, didn't you have kids on purpose, knowing that this would be how it would turn out? and one of them said no, nobody prepared me for this. could that really be true? was she really not paying attention when we non-parents warned her? or did we not warn her enough?
