french lady locked in bathroom
i read a story in het parool about a 69 year old lady in paris who got stuck in her bathroom for 20 days because the lock on the door got stuck. she tried to get her neighbors' attention by banging on the pipes. this made the neighbors think somebody in the building was 'aan het klussen' (doing some DIY around the house), and they sent around a petition to complain about the unknown handyman. finally somebody got in touch with the police, and they found the old woman quite underfed, having survived only on tapwater the whole time.
this afternoon i managed to upload version 06 of the 'tomo now' movie to hologic, using jon's connection downstairs cuz my DSL died at 10.00 tuesday. next week my DSL is supposed to be upgraded to VDSL.
yesterday a friend told me she's pregnant and needs to give away her cat. that would be very sad cuz she loves the cat. people tell people cats give pregnant women toxoplasmosis or something. but you can also catch toxoplasmosis ten other ways, so the whole thing seems a bit silly, old wives talesy.
crazy wendy has been calling me at all the wrong hours, wanting my help with marketing for tong ah. i told her i would be available after the 28th of november, but she wasn't listening and kept bothering me during the most intense part of the documentary project. so i kinda told her off via email, and she responded that she was so solly. literally.
tomorrow is thanksgiving, so i will celebrate it by going to dinner somewhere. but i can't invite most of my friends cuz everybody has some kind of plan for thursday. henryk is having a party, danny is jarig, amy garcia is playing out, etc etc. all kinds of good things are happening, but i must celebrate thanksgiving because it's one of my three holidays that i celebrate.
