worked on the menu kaart
lately muammar khaddafi has been on tv a lot cuz there's a rebellion in libya and everybody wants him to go away. the weird thing is, i can't help thinking he looks a lot like me. his face is different and i think he's taller than i am. but he dresses weird, wears a silly hat, and has this kinda confused but defiant look on his face all the time.
i just got word a little while ago that my next door neighbor from when i first moved to amsterdam is dead, and they think she killed herself. i find that really hard to believe. i guess they found her body in a lake, and the police said there were no signs of foul play. she was a doctor, had two kids and a husband.
nieke frantzen has started a blog. it has some nice things in it.
today i was working on trying to imagine the cognitive design for a better menukaart for tong ah. it's kind of a challenge to categorize it. sometimes it seems senseless to divide things according to what meat they contain. i mean, whataver is special about kung pao chicken, or tao si chicken, or ti pan chicken, king do chicken, or tjieuw jim chicken ... is not the chicken.
but on the other hand, if you just listed all the kung pao, tao si, ti pan, king do and tjieuw jim dishes, you'd still have plenty of things left over, and then how do you list them? 'other main courses'?
meanwhile it looks like 'imr2' is kinda done. all thomas wanted to do was change to a different logo animation, but he's having trouble getting his hands on it. also, they pushed back the first use of the film till the beginning of april again, so i've been the only one hurrying to finish it. i did tell thomas that i have to move on to other projects next week.
