things that fall from the sky
i just noticed a story from the first of last july in het parool. all the stories about drug-addled people jumping out of windows in amsterdam are linked together, and there was recently another in the damrak.
so one summer evening in de kerkstraat, an australian guy jumps out of a 3-hoog (fourth story) window, lands on a brasillian tourist sitting below at the teras of mexican restaurant los pilones. he instantly causes grievous spinal injury to the guy he lands on. the jumper then brushes himself off and walks away. the police arrest him a while later, and it turns out he has spinal injuries too.
i wonder what the after-story is on that one ... whatever happened with the severely injured tourist? who was the australian guy, what happened to him? the mysteries of old news.
