sucked stuff on sunday
we've been without vacuum-cleaner bags (stofzuigerzakken) for a while, but nicole just found some on saturday at blokker.
so on sunday i celebrated by using the stuff-sucker to suck a lot of stuff from all over the apartment. as i was stuff-sucking under the little shelf unit by the studio door, i suddenly heard a high pitched exclamation from the machine, and it turned out a small leopard-fuzzy ball was choking the nozzle. probably from kees's cats.
also, i did a little test with my auxilliary computer gear. last month the power went out on the east side of the apartment twice in one day --and each time we heard a loud pop. i unplugged my g5 and my raid, and the problem didn't recur. mind you, the problem had happened even with both units turned off -- they were just plugged in. so that's weird and a bit worrysome.
today i tried plugging in both units on the other side of the room, which is on a different circuit. again, after about 25 minutes of the RAID being plugged in, it somehow tripped the breaker on that side. daniel told me it might just be the power supply failing. he thinks it's unlikely that my data have been destroyed. (even if it is, there is a backup copy of that stuff in massachusetts.)
on saturday nicole made a big batch of that green curry chicken, and i've eaten two servings of it so far. good stuff.
got word from ewa that she made it safely to montreal, and is enjoying it there.
