vreemdelingendetentie vreselijker
i read a legal article a few months back about how in the dutch justice system, immigration is somehow equated with criminality. they treat asylum seekers and other irregular immigrants as criminals.
today's parool:
now, when pesky protesters won't give their name, police put them in the vreemdelingendetentie, to coerce them to identify themselves. and a lot of them cave. which would seem to indicate that most people find immigrant detention worse than jail.
