saw gabriel
i was at the cave last night and talked to gabriel. he said he's in favor of telling me his life story for an interview. i told him we should record it soon then, like before next thursday. he's nervous about going home for his paperwork and to see his grandma, afraid he might get stranded. i'm afraid of that too.
i also saw sasja and talked to him for a long time about the way companies like google are trying to data-mine people (and other things) to figure out what our preferences are. i told him i bet that if you asked a bunch of people how well targeted advertising is working on them -- like, does it show them anything they're really interested in -- then at least half would say no it's not working.
i was there until pretty late, around 02.00 i think, and then i took a taxi home. i slept late. pani should be coming to amsterdam tonight sometime, i need to clean up the place a little.
it now appears that the problem i was having, with limited form input from the script for my journal, has been fixed. i didn't get a mail saying what the problem was, so i figured i would just try it out by making a longer-than-737-character entry in the journal.
