leaving friday for 10 days
this friday 23 dec i'm taking a trip to porto, portugal, and will return on 02 january. staying at hotel pestana, on the praça da rebeira (next to the river). it's a little scary, going alone to a place i've never been and can't speak the language. but i wanted to see the place, and i really wanted to try being absent from amsterdam during the street-fireworks time.
last thursday night i was in a great mood, partly because several people said good things to me. also on saturday night i was at chico's bar and i saw djox and joana and sasja, and joana taught me a few things to say in portugués. since then i've been feeling kinda sad.
i think today is the celestially gloomiest day of the year (solstice).
lately i did some sketchup work visualizing a redo of the front room at mr tong's, which they're considering turning into a cocktail lounge after kitchen hours.
pretty soon i'll be buying a clothes washer for this place.
