dog into flock
when i came back from breakfast, the gulls were honking and squealing and circling and landing in the plaza below, apparently having found some tidbit of food to quarrel over. they were scuffling for standing rights, trying to show each other who's bossier. then one of the local free dogs ran straight in to the crowd, and they all took to the air. nobody wanted to land near the dog. so the dog stood there for a while, then lay down on the pavement nearby.
