also, yesterday i encountered the name 'ptolemy' three times in different forms. first, as the name of a town visited in 'the acts of the apostles', second in an episode of carl sagan's 'cosmos', and finally at chico's bar while talking to a stranger, who, in between discussing the portents of the mayan calendar and listing his favorite woody allen films, veered briefly into cosmology.
by that time i was already thinking i should create a character called 'tolemm', maybe use that name in the story i'm working on now. after the third signal i was convinced of it.
