back from paris shoot
anna and aleksandra and i went to paris and filmed saturday and sunday for our 'hier soir' opera film. on the morning of departure i saw the forecast called only for rain. i told the girls 'god wants us to film in the rain'. it was a little unpleasant but not too bad, and i think the weather helped the look. as if to seal that deal, the moment we finished filming, the sun came out. we had a couple drinks in the hotel bar. anna went to see the rançonki and aleks and i took the thalys back to amsterdam. we both got off at schiphol, as it was koninginnenacht and would have been hell trying to get home from centraal. grzes picked up aleks at the airport under the big panasonic screen, and a little while later george picked me up and drove me home. i gave him a cup of tea and we talked for a while about how he's feeling. i loaded all my clips in to the computer and backed them up on the raid. today i'm staying in and labeling clips. there's quite a bit of pre-syncing to do, using time-remapping as we didn't work to a playback.
the other cool thing was that at the end of saturday, christophe and malgorzata picked us up and took us to dinner at a lebanese restaurant (different one from last time). it was very cool to see them again.
