i heard a horn
i just heard moments ago a long blast from a low horn, like a ship's horn or a fog horn, while i was standing in the kitchen. it seemed to be coming from a direction where i'm not aware of sea or harbor (at least not withing hearing distance). but it might have been from a vessel on a waterway crisscrossing the land.
earlier tonight i was at chico's for a while, and the weather and the people were gentle, and it made me think this is one of the golden moments, that we shall look back on this as the time. there have been of course other such times. but i have to admit that most of them did happen in amsterdam.
prosze pani ani showed up, and we ate some sushi at sushi me. pani gave a presentation today at leiden, and apparently it went well, she was busy and satisfied.
there are plans to go to peenemünde on 11 july, four of us in djox's car. nadia also wants to go to swinoujscie, then they all wanna go to berlin for a few days.
tonight i read in thoreau: "It is time that we had uncommon schools, that we did not leave off our education when we begin to be men and women. It is time that villages were universities, and their elder inhabitants the fellows of universities ..."
i just heard the same horn again! it doesn't seem to be going anywhere.
