ended up at candela
last night was a multi-phase go-out.
first i had an afspraak to meet michel d at eijlders at 19.00. we talked and had a couple of beers, then decided to go eat something at mr tongs. there we were joined by pani ani and jon kenny. but pani had another afspraak so she left, then henryk showed up. then jon left and kaloyan showed up. i was supposed to meet ko at eijlders, but here we were. so when it was time to go, but ko got trapped in a long talk with mr wong. so i went on ahead, then had to wait a long time for ko -- which kinda made me mad at mr wong for needlessly delaying him and wasting my time. ko finally met me at eijlders, and we talked in the rookquarium until closing time. then walking back along the k l dwars, we got invited for a free beer at candela by the guy at the door. we sat upstairs in the smoking department. ran into eugenio the guitarist. that made ko happy, because he had once filmed eugenio playing out, but hadn't yet met him.
over the weekend we had a bit of a heat wave here. the news said it was the hottest weekend in holland since 1994. the thermometer in my studio only touched maybe 30,5 °C. but it still felt kinda oppressive to us. lydia tomitova wrote on fb that it was the first time she had ever actually felt comfy with the weather in holland. meanwhile i got to admire a lot of lightly dressed girls in the world. since yesterday it's cooled off a bit, but we're still not back to trad dutch milky chill.
