a great storm and vitriol
a great storm is ravaging the northeast US, it was hurricane sandy and now it's just a mess. flooding in manhattan.
weather channel had a live stream on youtube. live update comments whizzing by too fast to really read, many were from people saying 'go sandy!' 'fuck USA,' 'die USA' etc. for some reason most of them were made by serbians. a few 'muslims' throwing in the 'allahu akbar kill USA'.
it's as if people thought the makers of america's evil foreign policies would somehow be vulnerable to the storm. or that the storm's victims would somehow be those who victimized them in the past.
then there were a few pro-americans writing back into the firehose of comments: 'fuck serbia' go USA'.
that's how stupid nationalism gets.
