anro video file sorting
i can't believe it but i actually kinda finished sorting the anro project's archival footage files into folders according to subject and type of clip.
i thought it was gonna take a thousand years to get through it. when i first got the footage, it was in many different 'capture scratch' and 'render files' folders, none of which had been classified at the finder level because for her own version she'd been classifying it within her fcp projects. so i put everything in one place, and resolved to go through it all and put the clips into actual folders according to what they seemed to be. but i didn't want to rename those clips in case we need to refer together to them later by name.
i started out with the clips listed alphabetically, and that was taking a really long time. i might have 40 different clips whose name started with '62' which all had nothing to do with each other. then a few hours ago i came up with the ingenious idea of simply listing them by creation date. suddenly whole groups of related things were together, making it much faster to drop them into the correct folders. what a dummy, why didn't i think of that 12 hours ago?
i've still got a flu thing happening. george gave me some paracetamol and i don't feel quite so bad right now. i'd like to be in shape to do some work with pani, who arrived in town saturday and needs my help with a project. i also heard that micky is in town.
being off facebook so far has been quite a relief for me. i wonder how long it will be until hardcore withdrawal hits me. probably next time i have to sit here waiting for a render and have already watched the news twice that day.
