processing old ntsc
today i've been de-interlacing, re-framing, color-correcting, grain-reducing and blowing up some ntsc video sequences for project anro. how i do this, first i pre-edit some ntsc sequences, then export those as high quality quicktimes, then bring those into aftereffects for processing. result is a somewhat odd looking 1080p clip, ie better than just trying to scale up the original interlaced video. it's pretty time consuming though. the grain-reduction adds a lot of render time for each segment.
i also have to do a lot of rostrum-camera style moves on stills. haven't even begun that yet. sometimes i feel that i may spend 1000 years making a movie that will never see the light of day. but it kinda needs to be done.
