more literal
i think translators should try to be a bit more literal. very often translators are trying their best to disguise the fact that the original was written in a different language with a different viewpoint. if they tried to translate just a little bit more literally, i would be more aware of the difference, and i would learn from the difference. the difference would be a diversion. it would enterain and instruct me.
my nephew dc is visiting me for a few days. tonight we had pizza at the torino on roeterstraat, with hg. then a couple drinks at the kriterion before coming home.
